Mission Week #8

Day 1 - Middle School

A week of missions! Meet at the church 8:30 am each morning to gather and divide into teams. Youth contribute $5 per day for each day they work and buy their own lunch. Pack a swim suit if you want to swim after working today.

 

Monday, July 25

> 9 am - 12 pm

Agency: Rainbows United

Address: West Heights United Methodist Church kitchen

Drivers: None needed

Project: Make 175 cupcakes for Camp Woodchuck participants.

Supplies: We provide frosting, pans, all ingredients, bowls, mixing tools, etc. Cake mix will be provided.

Drivers: 

Drivers arrive at the church to transport youth to lunch and then to and from the mission.

Project: Sort donations, miscellaneous cleaning in warehouse

Activity: Burgers and Swim at The Youth Dude's house

Drivers: Any parent wishing their youth to participate

Day 2 - Middle School

Tuesday, July 26

> 9 am - 12 pm

Agency: Drop-In Center

Address: 353 N Market St 

Drivers: 

Drivers arrive at the church to transport youth at 10:30 for the mission, youth's fast food lunch and then to and from the afternoon mission.

Project: Make lunch for 100 homeless and or "in need" people and serve them

Supplies: We provide giant hoagies and fixings, plates, napkins etc.

Day 3 - Combined Lock-in and then High School

Parents get their youth to Laser Quest around 11:30 pm. Middle School parents then pick up their youth at Laser Quest at 6 am to go home. High School Youth leave Laser Quest and then meet back at the Youth Center to sleep. We'll wake them up in time to go buy their own fast food lunch.

 

Wednesday, July 27

> Midnight - 6 am

Laser Quest

Activity: Lock-in

Supplies: We provide pizza, paper towels, and pop/water

Project: Help with water carnival booths for students that participate in the free lunch program.

Day 4 - High School

Thursday, July 28

Agency: The Downing Children's Garden at Botanica

For non-driving youth.

Project: Work in gardens, cleaning, miscellaneous tasks
