New Year Game Tournament Common Meal Needed: Party poppers for table decorations, Business card size Resolution cards, pens, word find pages, Zodiac pages. Set out the "Word Find", Zodiac pages, Party Poppers and the "Resolution Cards" on each table. Have the Instructions typed on the "Word Find" page for the "Resolution Cards". Tell the Youth: Secretly write down 3 resolutions on a "Resolution Cards" that you wouldn't mind sharing with the group later. Keep them hidden until they are collected. Before the end of the meal, go around and pick up everyone's resolutions. To transition from eating to the Game Tournament, pull one card out at a time and read it out loud. Ask who everyone thinks made the resolution. Quit after 5 minutes, because there's lots of games to play!
Table Game Tournament Needed: 12 prizes, chair cards, score/player cards, my turn cards pens, tape, Jinga, Yatzee, Monopoly, Mouse Trap, Operation, Clue, Chutes & Ladders, Candy Land, Sorry, Sponge Bob Sorry, Hungary Hungary Hippos, Uno Set up 12 round tables with 4 seats at each. Place one of the above games at each table. Label the chairs at each table with the player 1, 2, 3, and 4 cards. Tape a score/player card at each chair on the tables. The first four players write what their game token is for that seat number. Use the "My Turn" card so players know where the group before them left off and where to continue the game. Have the large group divide into teams of 4 and find a table to begin play. Each time a game is completed during a rotation keep score on the index cards. Write something like, "winner game 1" and so on. For "Bop It", "Operation" & "Janga" record losses instead of wins. Each time a player looses make a tick mark on the card. The lowest score wins with these. For games like "Uno" and "Bop It", no token description is needed, only the player number. When the party is over, award prizes to the winner at each table! (Use the left over White Elephant prizes.) |
