Description by Destination: Corpus Christi There were 43 youth and 11 sponsors - The largest Ever! They traveled 2927.3 miles, provided 12 worship services and traveled through 4 states: Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, and  Colorado. They traveled to the following locations: Day1 Snapshot: Driving, Sack lunches, and swimming at Tuner Falls, OK. Retirement service Villa Pueblo Sr. Living Community Day2 Snapshot:  Houston Space Center. Full service and overnight at First UMC Missouri City, TX Day 3  Snapshot: Zipping through Cypress Valley Canopy Tours. Then hanging out at the San Antonio River Walk.  Buy your own dinner and overnight at  Bulverde UMC San Antonio, TX Day 4 Morning service at Bulverde UMC then on to the USS Lexington. Play at the beach and tour the ship. Yes, we're spending the night on a friendly haunted ship in Corpus Christy, TX Day 5 Snapshot: Tour the Alamo then drive a lot to First UMC, Abilene, TX for a service. Day 6 Snapshot: Look around Palo Duro Canyon, a Retirement Center service at "Park Central", Amarillo, TX then overnight at Hillside Christian Church Day 7 Snapshot: Travel to Villa Pueblo Sr. Living then Check out Pueblo's Water Walk, stay overnight at First UMC Pueblo, CO Day 8 Snapshot: Mountain Biking in the morning down Gold Camp Road Pikes Peak, lunch at Casa Bonita then a retirement service at Sterling House of Longmont, Longmont, CO. Overnight at Lifebridge Christian Church in Longmont Day 9 Snapshot: Play at the Hays water park, then a service at First UMC, Hays, KS and the final dance and Sr. send-off Day 10 Returned home and set up for final 2 worship services at West Heights UMC A CD of over 3500 digital photos was available. A book for each Caravaner was produced with general instructions, daily devotions and schedules. The "Sponsors Challenge" was a bus activity, as well as talent time, auctions with Caravan bucks, upslips, and the occasional storytelling. Alvin again was our wonderful bus driver. Wednesday Middle School & High School, (meet @ the church 11:00pm Tuesday) midnight-6am Laser Quest Middle School goes home from Laser Quest. High School sleeps @ the church 6:30am-noon then member yard work. Thursday High School, 9am-4pm Car wash & Rib Sale Friday High School, 9am-4pm Youth Center work till 4. Middle School & High School, 6-11pm, Late Night & Dance.   August 1 More than a Movie Studies & 1 late night double feature titled Kicking & Screaming  - Kicking & Screaming contained plenty of teachable moments on minor topics such as anger, betting, expectations, teamwork, and apologizing. None of these compare to the elephant in the room that was youth sports.
